The design and build team consisted of: Steve Szell, Thomas Collins and Oliver Howes. Together this project was completed over a period of 2 weeks.
Deep in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, we were approached by the Glass House Eco Village to provide them with a shade strucutre for their coffee production area. The great thing about this site was not only the sustainable/eco-friendly principles it instills in its business, but the landscape covered in multitudes of different fruit and its own coffee plantation.
The design idea was to let the northern light into the space during winter, and block it out during summer. Clerestorey's created through a simple 3 tiered saw tooth roof form assisted this idea through the strict geometry.
The Bamboo for this project was sourced and treated on site.
