The final project for my undergraduate degree, with a brief asking for the intrinsic insertion of 'luxfer prisms', the ability for the building to congregate many people and stand as a symbol for our interpretation of democracy in the 21st Century.

The Hall of Democracy stands as a symbol for a new democratic ecosystem - with the people being at the centre of all decision making - ruling out the need for corrupt politicians.

The design itself reinvented the idea of a luxfer prism into a cube allowing modular insertions of louvres, fans, or empty openings (depending on building orientation), in turn this turned the whole building into a luxfer prism. During the day, being engulfed by light and at night expelling light into the surrounds.

The project was a semester long, broken into 3 assignments. the first being a concept design package, followed by a technical assignment addressing the fundamentals of our reinvented luxfer prism. The final assignment was then coordinated in pairs to fully complete the design and produce a full set of construction drawings.

The design addresses the BCC, NCC, QLD sustainable planning act and QDC where applicable.
